The VIP Shared Authentication Network allows companies to roll out two-factor authentication to consumers, without the risk and investment of building and supporting an internal authentication infrastructure for external users.

• A relying party accepts VIP Credentials, displays the VIP logo, and pays an annual validation service fee.
• An issuer issues co-branded VIP Credentials, and pays an annual validation service fee. As issued credentials are activated by relying parties, the issuer receives a share of revenue.
• The VeriSign Identity Protection Centre is a self-service portal for consumers to purchase a VIP Credential and view a directory of services that trust VIP Credentials.
