VeriSign® Authenticated Content Signing (ACS) for Symbian™ allows developers and software publishers to assign a unique code signing certificate to each version of code released. The enrolment process creates a single, web-based account to manage all your organisation's signing events in real time.

Click BUY, and provide information for your Publisher ID (referred to as Administrator Certificate in the signing portal). VeriSign may contact your organisation to verify information or request additional documentation. Provide accurate contact information to expedite the process.
Once approved, you will receive an e-mail with instructions for picking up your Publisher ID. Save this e-mail for future reference. Go to the Web site provided to pick up and install your Publisher ID. You must pick up your Publisher ID from the same computer and browser, and you must be logged in with the same profile used to enrol.
Download the Symbian Key Export Utility to convert the private key and certificate embedded in your Internet Explorer browser into a format recognised by the Symbian MakeSIS tool.
- Click and accept: Symbian Key Export Utility Software License Agreement.
- Download the Symbian Key Export Tool zip file and extract the contents.
- Copy the vs_pkcs.exe executable and ReadMe.txt files to any folder.
- From your IE browser, select your Publisher ID certificate: Tools -> Internet Options -> Content -> Certificates.
- Click 'Export' and follow the Certificate Export Wizard.
- Choose 'Yes, export the private key' when asked 'Do you want to export the private key with the certificate?'
- Enter a password to protect the private key or leave it blank.
- Copy the .pfx file to the folder containing the downloaded vs_pkcs.exe executable and follow the instructions in the ReadMe.txt file to create a .key and .cer file for use with the Symbian MakeSIS tool.
You are now ready to begin signing code and content using your Publisher ID. Before uploading signed files to ACS for Symbian for re-signing, submit them to a Symbian-approved test house. Publisher IDs are valid for one year and may be renewed by logging in to your account. You can purchase additional Content IDs from ACS for Symbian at any time.
