eNom to Enable More Domain Resellers to Offer VeriSign® SSL Certificates
New Agreement with VeriSign and eNom Further Extends Reach of the Most Trusted Mark on the Internet
London – March 27, 2009—VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN), the trusted provider of Internet infrastructure services for the networked world, and eNom, the world’s No. 1 domain registrar for resellers according to Name Intelligence, today announced a new agreement to make it easier than ever for eNom resellers to offer their customers Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificates. Under the new agreement, eNom will promote and distribute VeriSign® branded SSL Certificates through its retail and reseller channels.
“Through this new agreement, VeriSign and eNom are creating a reseller program built around the most trusted mark on the Internet,” said Jeff Eckhaus senior vice president and, general manager at eNom. “Now, Web site hosting companies, registrars and resellers can provide their customers with SSL Certificates that bear the brand recognized more often than any other on the Web. With VeriSign, our resellers have an instant competitive advantage by launching the established VeriSign brand.”
In addition to registering domains directly through www.enomcentral.com and www.bulkregister.com, eNom operates one of the largest, most active reseller network in the domain industry. VeriSign SSL Certificates are available to eNom resellers through eNom’s platform-independent API and its PDQ Instant Reseller solution.
The VeriSign Secured Seal is the most recognized trust mark on the Internet.* The VeriSign Secured Seal appears on Web pages of merchants whose identities have been verified by VeriSign through SSL certification. Site visitors click on the seal to verify a merchant’s site information in real time. Studies have shown that sites certified by VeriSign SSL experience lower shopping cart and other transaction abandonment and increased visitor-to-sales conversions.**
“We’re pleased to extend the reach of VeriSign SSL Certificates through this reseller relationship with eNom,” said Michael Lin, vice president and general manager of SSL at VeriSign. “By offering VeriSign branded SSL Certificates to its retail customers and its resellers, eNom is helping domain registrars and resellers deliver value for their customers and build trust throughout its distribution chain.”
