Phishing scams and online fraud have created
doubt and concern amongst online shoppers. To regain their trust, site
owners need an easy and reliable way to show customers that their transactions
are secure and the site has been authenticated. Leading security vendors
and Internet browsers have come together to establish the Extended Validation
(EV) standard for SSL Certificates.
- Over 3,500 domains
live with VeriSign EV SSL Certificates today*
- VeriSign is the
provider of choice for over 75% of the entire EV market today*
Hundreds of Web sites have taken the lead in
adopting this added security feature and deployed VeriSign Extended
Validation SSL Certificates.

to protecting their customers by displaying VeriSign Extended Validation
SSL Certificates.

The Green Address Bar of Extended Validation
Microsoft® Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) is the
first browser to use the new standard. When shoppers visit a Web site
secured with an Extended Validation SSL Certificate, IE7 will trigger
the address bar to turn green and display the name of the organisation
listed in the certificate as well as the certificate’s security vendor.
For Firefox 2.0 users a plug-in
is available to ensure this occurs.
