Installation Instructions

The VeriSign Secured Seal is the most trusted security mark on the Internet. By clicking the Verify link, your Web site visitors can verify your site in real time and have the confidence to complete their transactions. The VeriSign Secured Seal should display within 2 hours of installation after your SSL Certificate has been validated.

STEP 1 - Get Started

1. Open the destination page for the VeriSign Secured Seal in an HTML editor or Web authoring tool.
2. Format the page to make room for the seal. If you are replacing a previous version of the seal, locate and remove the old code.

Recommendation: Add the seal to any of the pages secured by your VeriSign SSL Certificate where a visitor might be concerned about security: the home page, the login screen,the buy page, the security or privacy information pages. Insert the seal where it will be clearly visible to your Web site visitors.

STEP 2 - Choose Your Seal

1. Select the language for the Verify link and verification page.

2. Select the size of the seal display.

3. Select to display format as an animated graphic (Flash) or a static GIF file (Image).

4. Select a layout for your seal.

5. Enter the common name.
The common name must match the common name (CN) on the SSL Certificate. For example, if the certificate CN is www.verisign.co.uk, enter www.verisign.co.uk.

STEP 3 - Create Your Seal Script

Recommendation: Create the script on this page and copy it directly into the Web page code. Emailing or copying the code into a word processor may result in errors.

STEP 4 - Test Your Web Page

The VeriSign Secured Seal should display within 2 hours of installation after your SSL Certificate has been validated.

To check your seal:

1. Open the updated pages in a Web browser.
2. Make sure the seal appears as expected.
3. Click the seal to check the verification page.
4. Review the information to make sure it is correct.

If your seal does not display, make sure that the page with the seal is located within the domain secured by the common name. For more troubleshooting tips, go to My Seal Did Not Display.
