VeriSign Managed Public Key Infrastructure
(PKI) services enable enterprises to secure their applications and network
infrastructure with authenticated, private and non-repudiated communication
and transactions. As the cornerstone of VeriSign Strong Authentication,
VeriSign Managed PKI enables customers to offload the issuance of digital
certificates and administrative tasks such as digital certificate generation,
validation, renewal and revocation.
Managed PKI Services are delivered through
VeriSign's military-grade public key infrastructure and Network Operations
Centres, ensuring 24x7x365 monitoring, management and issue escalation
across the globe.
VeriSign Core Managed PKI provides a cost-effective
way to establish a robust, customised PKI and Certificate Authority
system for issuing digital credentials throughout your enterprise, allowing
your users secure access to e-mail, networks, VPN, ERP, extranets, portals,
and other applications.
This is available as an entry-level service
for enterprises needing to secure applications on a small scale. Enterprises
can control the issuance of digital certificates to internal and external
users, while outsourcing to VeriSign such data centre processing tasks
as digital certificate generation, validation, renewal and revocation.
VeriSign's Managed Public Key Infrastructure
and authentication services enable enterprises to retain full control
for access to information while leveraging VeriSign's service infrastructure
for provisioning and validation of authentication credentials. These
services are integrated out-of-the-box with leading multi-factor authentication
technologies, including USB tokens, smart cards, biometrics, and digital
form signing, providing lower total cost of ownership.
The VeriSign® Device Certificate Service makes
it fast, efficient, and cost-effective to embed X.509 certificates into
any type of hardware devices such as cable modems, set-top boxes, Digital-Cable-Ready
televisions, or WiMAX-compliant subscriber stations. The X.509-standard
certificates embedded in the hardware devices enable service providers
such as cable operators to perform strong authentication of their distributed
devices used by their subscribers. The certificate-based authentication
prevents any rogue device employed by unauthorized users from accessing
services such as cable network based VOIP, digital media content, or
broadband service.
The Trust Service Integration Kit (TSIK) provides
Java APIs that minimize the complexity behind trusted application development.
The APIs enable developers to rapidly integrate digital trust services
including secure XML processing, authentication, real-time certificate
validation and authorisation.
VeriSign helps enterprises assess, design and
deploy cost-effective and scalable strong authentication solutions,
while maximising the value of existing security investments.
With this service, device certificates are
created at VeriSign and automatically delivered to the manufacturer's
site for easy embedment into devices at the time of manufacture.
