End-User Certificate Enrolment

When end users need a certificate for a server or application, they are directed to a customised URL provided by their Managed PKI for SSL Administrator. The administrator customises the pages to request the information they need for prompt approval and issuance.

End-User Enrolment Instructions

  1. Go to the enrolment URL provided by the administrator.
  2. Click on Enrol.
  3. Paste your CSR into the text box when prompted.
  4. Complete all information fields.
  5. Click on Submit.

Your Managed PKI for SSL Administrator will issue your certificate. VeriSign technical support does not have access to this the account.  Please contact the administrator for your company.

Correct Formatting

Do not use any shift characters in any of the enrolment fields. If your company has an & or @ symbol in its name, either spell out the symbol or omit it from the enrolment field. An error 105 in CSR generation is usually caused by a Control character such as @, #, $ or % in one of the enrolment fields.

The locality is the city or town. State or province names must be spelled out without abbreviations: ‘California’, for example. Countries must be specified by the two-letter country code without punctuation: US for the United States, UK for United Kingdom.

Common Name

The Common Name is the Host + Domain Name. It looks like ‘www.company.com’ or ‘company.com’.

VeriSign SSL Certificates may only be used on Web servers using the Common Name specified during enrolment. For example, a certificate for the domain ‘domain.com’ will receive a warning if accessing a site named ‘www.domain.com’ or ‘secure.domain.com’, because ‘www.domain.com’ and ‘secure.domain.com’ are different from ‘domain.com’.
