Installation Instructions- IBM WebSphere 5.1 server
This document provides instructions for installing
SSL Certificates. If you are unable to use these instructions for your
server, VeriSign recommends that you contact either the vendor of your
software or an organisation that supports IBM WebSphere 5.1.
Step 1: Install CA Certificate
Secure Site
If you are installing a Secure Site Certificate,
you need to first install the Secure
Site Intermediate CA Certficate.
Secure Site Pro
If you are installing a Secure Site Pro Certificate,
you need to first install the Secure
Site Pro Intermediate CA Certficate .
Note to ISP Center Customers: Certificates enrolled through
VeriSign's ISP Center do not need the Secure Site Intermediate CA Certificate
installed at this time.
- Start the key management utility (iKeyman)
- Open the key database file that was used to create the certificate
request.
- Enter the password, and then click OK.
- Select Signer Certificates and then click Add.
- Click Data type, and select a data type, such as Base64-encoded ASCII data. This
data type must match the data type of the importing certificate.
- Click Data type and select the data type of the new digital certificate, such as
Base64-encoded ASCII data. Select the data type that matches the CA-signed
certificate. If the CA sends the certificate as part of an E-mail message,
you may first need to cut and paste the certificate into a separate
file.
- Enter a file name and location for the CA root digital certificate or click Browse
to select a file name and location.
- Click OK.
- Enter a label for the importing certificate.
Click OK. The Signer Certificates field displays the
label of the signer certificate you added.
Step 2: Install the SSL Certificate
VeriSign will email you your certificate. If the certificate
is an attachment (Cert.cer), you can use the file. If the certificate
is in the body of the email, copy and paste it into a text file using
Vi or Notepad. Do not use Microsoft Word or other word processing programs
that may add characters.
- Start the key management utility (iKeyman)
- Open the key database file from which you want to generate
the request.
- Type the password, and then click OK.
- Select Personal Certificates from the drop-down menu.
- Click Receive.
- Click Data type and select the data type of the new digital certificate, such as
Base64-encoded ASCII data. Select the data type that matches the CA-signed certificate.
If the CA sends the certificate as part of an email message, you may
need to cut and paste the certificate into a separate text file.
- Type the certificate file name and location for the new digital
certificate, or click Browse to locate the CA-signed certificate.
- Click OK.
- Type a label for the new digital certificate and click OK. The personal certificate list displays the new label.
