Live Earth concerts 2007 and VeriSign
Live Earth is a 24-hour, seven continent series
of nine concerts that will bring together more than 100 music artists
and two billion people to trigger a global movement to solve the Earth’s
climate crisis. This concert will use the global reach of music
to engage people on a mass scale to combat the climate crisis.

As part of Live Earth’s goal to combat the
climate crisis, there will be a text2screen SMS program available asking
audience members to commit to one of six earth friendly actions including:
at home, at work, shopping, transportation, community, and leadership.
VeriSign will be enabling the SMS Campaign in four of the nine cities
including:
- New York, New York – Giants Stadium
- London, United Kingdom – Wembley Stadium
- Sydney, Australia – Aussie Stadium
- Hamburg, Germany – HSH Nordbank Arena

Live Earth: Make a commitment, answer the call, enabled by VeriSign
Screens at select events will allow the audience to participate
in a text2screen standard SMS programme at the event, and watch remotely
where possible. Participants will send a keyword to the short-code,
and, in return, will quickly receive an SMS poll question that will allow
them to answer how they pledge to make a difference to help save the
earth. Participants will also send their name with their poll answer, for
a chance to have their personalised pledge posted on the event screen.
This scrawl may also be integrated into event television broadcast and

combat the climate crisis! Standard text messaging rates apply. Available
on participating carriers only.
- Text SOS to 82004: to get news and information on the Live Earth concert
series
- Text SHARE to 82004: to ‘pass it on’, and forward to your friends a Live
Earth text message or email and inspire them to join the movement to
combat the climate crisis.
- Text SHOP to 82004: to ‘bag the habit’ and use reusable bags.
- Text RIDE to 82004: to ride public transport or car pool at least one day
per week.
- Text LEAD to 82004: to take action, be heard, and get involved in the environment.
- Text HOME to 82004: To agree to change at least four light bulbs to CFLs
in your home.
- Text JOB to 82004: to ‘power down’ and turn off your electronics and lights
when not in use to save energy.
